The decision to establish, maintain or conclude a formal relationship with an external organization is the responsibility of the CEO. These are done within consideration of the strategic direction of the organization.
The CEO selects any needed representation to the external body, staff or member, who will report to the CEO no less than annually. These representatives will ensure any action is consistent with ISA policies and in the best interest of ISA. Representatives will avoid any statement or action criticizing individuals, firms, products or services. If the other organization is voting on a criticizing statement, ISA’s negative vote must be recorded in the minutes. Representatives may not endorse any product or service of the external organization in the name of ISA, unless authorized by the CEO in writing.
