Dennis Brandl

Dennis Brandl has been an active member of ISA's ISA88 Batch Control System committee for the past seven years, a U.S. expert in batch control to IEC SC65A/WG11, and is editor of ISA's ISA95 Enterprise-Control System Integration standard. He has also served as chairman of the NEMA Task Force of Device Communications. Dennis has a B.S. in Physics, an M.S. in Measurement and Control from Carnegie Mellon University, and an M.S. in Computer Science from California State University. He has been involved in automation system design and implementation for the past 20 years including Apollo and Space Shuttle test systems for Rockwell, as well as work with Modcomp, Shell Oil, Texas Instruments, Siemens, Telemecanique, and Modicon. He is also responsible for starting the General Recipe Consortium, a group of companies defining enterprise requirements for batch automation. He started teaching for ISA in 1998 and is qualified to teach courses IC40, IC55.
