Everyone has a good Leak Detection And Repair (LDAR) program until audit time. The ultimate test for any LDAR program is passing an audit from the state, federal, corporate, or any third-party auditors. Third-party auditing is currently being put into effect by some states and will most likely be required by everyone in the near future.

This course will help prepare you for the things that auditors look for and improve your preparation for when your audit does happen. It covers what the rules require, how to meet these requirements, and how to minimize or eliminate situations that have potential to become issues.

You will be able to:

  • Identify equipment applicable to regulations
  • Recognize the most effective approach to fugitive monitoring
  • Describe how equipment reliability can affect the outcome of an audit
  • Identify a tracking system for preventative maintenance
  • Use piping drawings to evaluate common process issues
  • Apply Method 21 in depth as it is referred to as the "Bible" for LDAR
  • Recognize and survive an unannounced audit without going into shock
  • Identify ways to self-audit your LDAR program
  • Recognize and minimize or eliminate audit findings for open end lines

You will cover:

  • Understanding LDAR: Federal Regulation Requirements, Record Keeping, and Reporting | Compliance with New Regulations Added to an Existing Program | Audit Criteria and How Audits are Conducted
  • Strategy to Eliminate Delay of Repairs: Valve Design and Leak Potential | Selection of Equipment Based on LDAR Data | Using LDAR Data to Predict Potential Leaks | Equipment Compatibility with Process
  • Ever Changing Process: Keeping up with Equipment Modifications | Stream Identification | Regulation Changes or Additions
  • Method 21: Audit Tips | Specifications and Performance Criteria | Alternative to Method 21 | Response Factors
  • Reporting and Recordkeeping-Auditing: Keeping Data Accessible and Easy to Retrieve | Reviewing Criteria for Reporting | What to Expect if Audited | Self-Auditing
