Description:

This webinar presents and discusses the direction in which the industry is heading with respect to the classification of a BMS as a SIS. We will overview the current codes/standards related to BMSs and how they relate to SIS standards. This webinar also presents arguments as to why a BMS could be considered a SIS.

You will be able to:

  • Describe the difference between performance-oriented (risk-based) and prescriptive-based standards
  • Define the direction the industry is heading with respect to BMS designs
  • Explain how a BMS could be considered a SIS
  • Gain insight into future BMS requirements that could impact your design/facility
  • Apply the Safety Lifecycle concepts to a BMS
  • Identify what codes/standards exist or are being modified that could impact the design of BMSs

  • NFPA 85 Logic Solver-Related Requirements
  • BMS SIS End-User Survey Results
 

Equipment and System Requirements:
