I invite you to consider publishing in ISA Transactions: The Journal of Automation, ISA's bi-monthly journal on the science and engineering of measurement and automation.

Readers are engineering and science professionals, in both industry and academe, who are working on advances in measurement (sensors, instruments, signal processing, data management, data analysis, etc.) and automation (control, scheduling, process management, optimization, etc.). Journal manuscripts reflect the application and practice perspective of ISA members; and, additionally, the journal emphasizes the fundamental scientific and engineering analysis of those industrially-relevant technologies.

ISA Transactions is an archival, refereed journal, upholding the highest standards of professional quality. Each manuscript will have reviewers from both the industrial and academic communities. Accordingly, publication in ISA Transactions will establish the credibility and stature of your work.

Papers must have the application and practice focus that is characteristic of ISA. In addition, they must also present the analysis of the fundamental science and engineering concepts behind the work. Papers may be of a tutorial nature; but, most will present either new techniques for technology analysis and design, or application.

Reviewing Articles

We are always looking for qualified reviewers for manuscripts that are submitted to ISA Transactions. If you are interested in volunteering as a reviewer, download the Reviewer Expertise Form (an Adobe Acrobat PDF file; get a free copy of Acrobat Reader), print a copy, fill it in, and mail it to the Editor-in-Chief.

The review process is confidential. Reviewers are expected to read and critically evaluate manuscripts, and to return helpful comments for the authors through the Editor-in-Chief. On average reviewers receive one or two manuscripts per year, and are expected to respond within about a month.
