The Siemens Energy Sector secured an order from the Netherlands to construct a turnkey combined cycle power plant. Independent power producer InterGen, headquartered in Burlington, Maine, purchased the Rijnmond II power plant. Commercial operation is scheduled for mid-2010, when Siemens will assume responsibility for plant services over a period of 12 years.
