Honeywell Wintriss appointed Veugen Integrated Technologies (VIT) as its Canadian master distributor to handle sales, installation, and service for its product line for Ontario and all Canadian provinces west of Ontario. VIT rebuilds press controls to meet current safety standards. The company also designs and builds custom control panels for original equipment manufacturer applications and control reliable systems for machines requiring conformance to Canadian Standards Association and American National Standards Institute safety standards.

ABB signed a contract with Jinchuan Group Limited, number one nickel producer in China, to supply a mine hoist to its nickel mine in Jinchang, an industrial city in the eastside of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province. The new hoist will help bring ore from a new mining level up to the surface. ABB also won orders worth around $71 million from Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd., India's national transmission utility, to help strengthen the country's transmission network. ABB will supply power products for substations around the country.

Hatteras Networks formed a partnership with ATL, a system integrator of fiber-based metro Ethernet equipment in the region, that will enable network operators to easily satisfy the bandwidth, resiliency, and reliability demands 3G operators require going forward. Hatteras Networks is Demand Broadband's primary supplier of Mid-Band Ethernet for the Brisbane, Australia company. Hatteras also formed a partnership with Telecom 180 to boost participation in rapidly growing markets for mobile telephony.

Setaram Inc., a manufacturer of thermal analysis and calorimetry instruments, acquired Hy-Energy LLC, a manufacturer of gas sorption scientific instruments for clean renewable energy research. The acquisition comes on the heels of Setaram Instrumentation's strategic distribution partnership with Microcal to sales and support of MicroCal products across Europe.
