Stratus Named AVEVA’s 2017 Technology Partner Product of the Year

Award lauds Stratus’ ftServer as the partner’s leading HMI and SCADA solution of choice for its ability to eliminate downtime for mission-critical applications

Maynard, Mass. (23 May 2018) - Stratus Technologies, a global leader in continuous availability solutions for mission-critical applications, today announced its fault tolerant server for industrial automation environments, ftServer, received the HMI and SCADA Technology Partner Product of the Year for 2017 award at AVEVA's Global Partner Summit, which took place April 18-20, 2018 in Lake Forest, California. The award is a result of extensive lab testing that validates ftServer's outstanding performance in minimizing unplanned downtime when used with AVEVA's newest release of System Platform 2017.

According to AVEVA, the hardware performance test was designed to measure screen refresh latency and application performance measuring the ability for various industrial process control applications to run continuously without interruption, data loss or corruption during different component failures. Through these different failure scenarios, no application disconnects, data loss or corruption occurred. All testing was done at AVEVA's Lake Forest, California facility and was run by AVEVA's Quality Assurance (QA) department on a 100K I/O test bench.

Gary Tillery, Leader, Partner Group at AVEVA stated, "As the first hardware vendor to be recognized in this category, Stratus has proven it has developed a validated fault tolerant platform that is resilient and highly reliable, minimizing unplanned downtime in the most mission-critical environments and under the most demanding conditions - key attributes for the industrial automation sector. ftServer earned this award, and we're happy to expand its use throughout our partnercommunity."

"In today's always-on global economy where seconds matter, unplanned downtime in critical industrial business applications is unacceptable. It is the difference between business success and failure," said Eric-Jan Schmidt, vice president of corporate and global marketing for Stratus. "This recognition is a testament to our commitment to deliver industry-leading application failure prevention for our partners in the industrial automation space. We look forward to expanding our strong, growing partnership with AVEVA and its global ecosystem of distributors, system integrators and OEMs to ensure continuous availability of our shared customers' most critical industrial business systems."

Stratus' ftServer is an operationally simple platform that keeps applications up and running with no downtime or data loss. Leveraging the latest Intel processor technology and supporting Windows®, Linux® and virtualization technology (VMware, Hyper-V™ and KVM), ftServer's always-on capabilities are achieved with advanced lockstep technology and real-time management and monitoring.
