    ISA Security Compliance Institute

    NIST Cybersecurity Framework

In April 2013, the ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISCI) worked in coordination with the ISA99 standards committee leaders and the Automation Federation to respond to the NIST RFI for developing a cybersecurity framework aimed at reducing cyber risks to US critical infrastructure. The ISA99 Standards committee and ISCI submitted separate but coordinated responses via the Automation Federation.  Members of ISCI are now participating in ongoing workshops facilitated by NIST, working towards completion of the national framework by October 2013.

Dedication of ISASecure Lab in Japan

In May 2013 ISCI participated in the dedication of a cybersecurity research and test facility in Tagajo City near Sendai Japan.  The Japanese government, through their Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA), has adopted the ISASecure™ certification as part of their critical infrastructure program, and the lab in Tagajo City is currently undergoing Guide 65 accreditation for the ISASecure conformance scheme.  In a related matter, ISCI executed an MOU with the Japan Accreditation Bureau to act as the IEC Accreditation Body (AB) for the accreditation of the lab.  Officially, a consortium called the CSSC will be the formal certification body (CB) operating the ISASecure program in Tagajo city facility.  The dedication ceremony included speeches from important Japanese government leaders and Marty Edwards of the Department of Homeland Security.  In addition, it included cybersecurity presentations from an invited panel including Andre Ristaino, ISCI Managing Director, who provided an overview of the ISASecure program and roadmap.
