    Summary

    The President is responsible for leading the Executive Board, and, in conjunction with the ISA Executive Director, sets the tone of the Society. The president serves for three consecutive years with obligations as President-elect Secretary, President and Past President.

    Responsibilities

    • Represent ISA at various industry events, being knowledgeable about and supporting the mission, strategic plan and programs of the organization
    • Review and act upon recommendations brought to the Executive Board
    • Support and promote all decisions made by the Executive Board
    • Participate in the Compensation Committee to set objectives and review performance of the Executive Director

    • President-elect Secretary
      • Serve as Chief Strategy Officer
      • Work with Executive Director to review trends with potential effect on the strategic vision
      • In absence or at the request of the President, assume the responsibilities and authority of the President
      • Learn the duties and function of the President
      • Oversee the preparation for Executive Board and Membership meeting minutes
      • Serve as Parliamentarian
       
    • President
      • Preside, as Chair, over all meetings of the Executive Board
      • Preside, as Chair, over all meetings of the Council of Society Delegates
      • Serve as the primary contact between the staff and the members, providing support, guidance and direction to and having regular communication with the Executive Director
      • Engage with members of the Board, senior staff, and other stakeholders to ensure objectives are aligned with ISA’s vision, strategy and goals
      • Ensure all members of the Executive Board are aware of and fulfilling their legal and fiduciary responsibilities
      • Oversee preparation of agendas for meetings of the Executive Board and Delegates
      • Facilitate a review and approval of the annual budget
      • Confirm appointments to various committees and departments
      • Ensure ISA complies with its governing documents
      • Report regularly to the membership

      • Chair the Automation Federation
      • Represent the Automation Federation at various industry events, being knowledgeable about and supporting the mission, strategic plan and programs of the organization

      • Leader Meeting and Executive Summit Planning Team – 1.5 hours per month
      • Face to Face Meetings
        • Annual Leadership Conference – 4 days
        • Strategic Leader Meeting – 3 days
        • Executive Summit – 3 days
        • Various Division and District Events – 5 days
        • Visits to ISA Headquarters – 8 days
