In a typical process plant, over 60% of instrument applications involve pressure. Pressure instrumentation maintenance is a critical and daily task, yet proper procedures for managing and calibrating these instruments are often overlooked or not understood.
This webinar is the first of a two part series, which will cover the principles of pressure instruments and advanced pressure measurement and calibration techniques using best practices.
To begin, a pressure instrument expert will discuss the basic concepts that drive pressure instrumentation. Calibration gurus will demonstrate how to calibrate pressure applications, including vacuum and differential pressure, during part one.
Part two of this series will focus on advanced differential pressure measurements, such as boiler and storage tank levels.

Hunter Vegas
Project Engineering Manager
Hunter Vegas has worked in the automation industry for nearly 29 years and has executed over 2000 automation projects in the nuclear, pulp and paper, and specialty chemistry industries. He is a frequent contributor to several controls magazines and recently co-published his first book, “101 Tips for a Successful Automation Career” with Greg McMillan. Hunter currently works for Wunderlich-Malec as a Project Engineering Manager and lives in North Carolina.
Roy Tomalino

Roy has been teaching calibration management for 10 years. His past experience includes time with Hewlett-Packard as a corporate trainer, leading new product introductions and managing worldwide training activities. Furthermore, Roy worked with Honeywell where he provided support for calibration management software and a portable calibrator, as a trainer, certified developer and technical advisor.
Roy holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Regis University, Denver, CO; and A.A.S. Electronics Technology from Denver Institute of Technology, Denver, Colorado. Roy is also Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Today, Roy conducts educational training sessions and provides technical support to Beamex customers in North America.
Ned Espy

Ned Espy, Technical Director, has been promoting calibration management with Beamex for almost 20 years. Ned has helped develop best practices for calibration, with a focus on pressure, temperature and multivariable instruments. He is a consistent editorial contributor to leading industry publications, and has received significant recognition within the automation industry. Recently, Ned contributed to the book 416-page book, “The Engineer’s Guide to Industrial Temperature Measurement.” Earlier in 2014, he wrote a paper titled, “Improved Measurement and Control Utilizing Advanced Calibration Strategies,” which he presented at the ISA Power Industry Division Symposium in June.
Today, Ned teaches calibration best practices and provides technical support to end users and the Beamex sales team in North America.
