New edition of The Condensed Handbook of Measurement and Control

Auto IT Nov-Dec fig 1

The fourth edition of The Condensed Handbook of Measurement and Control by Nabil E. Battikha, PE, is now available (www.isa.org/mandchandbook). Battikha, an award-winning author in the field of process instrumentation and control, says an updated edition of his popular book was needed because of recent advances in process instrumentation and control implementation.

The revised edition makes it easier for readers to select and implement measurement and control devices for process automation applications. Readers will gain practical answers to questions pertaining to ISA symbology, instrument and control valve selection criteria, conversion guidelines, maintenance, calibration, decision making, and consulting.

The handbook has long been one of ISA's most successful publications. Battikha has twice received ISA's Raymond D. Molloy Award-once for the initial edition of the book and once for the third edition. The award is presented annually to the author whose book outsold all others in a given year.

New CAPs and CCSTs

Qualifying for and passing one of ISA’s certification exams is a noteworthy accomplishment. The exams are rigorous and require a solid command of various disciplines in automation and control. Below is a list of individuals who have recently passed either our Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or one of the three levels of our Certified Control System Technician (CCST) exam. Congratulations to our new certification holders! For more information about the ISA CAP and CCST certification programs, please visit www.isa.org/training-and-certifications/isa-certification.
