Maurício Simões Posser, Product Analyst at Elipse Software, delivered a short course about the Elipse Plant Manager (EPM), PIMS software developed by Elipse Software. The EPM features an environment integrated with the Python language, and several data analysis tools that were the focus of this course. A brief introduction of the Python language was also provided. Participants practiced with some exercises in which they were asked to perform analyses of data from a temperature controlled environment.

Industrial IoT- Opportunities and Challenges

On the Tech Talk, Industrial IoT: Opportunities and Challenges, Sujata led the audience through the basic concepts of IIoT and discussed: how IIoT is spreading into all aspects of industry-non-industry and domestic applications; the convergence of OT and IT with regards to IIOT, which brings in different architectures and possibilities; the newer operational systems integrating IIoT and Big Data with traditional OT+IACS systems; the new concept of trustworthiness that encompasses security, safety and other features; and the various opportunities available in products, service, maintenance, and the cybersecurity areas of IIoT that will serve as the next growth drivers for the industry.

The audience was very interactive, indicating the need to expand the discussion more and reflecting the thirst of Industry and professionals to get more in their IIoT cups. The presentation was well appreciated and has laid a firm footing for a one-day seminar in November on the same topic.
