• ISA honors outstanding achievements in automation at its annual awards ceremony

The 53rd Annual ISA Honors & Awards Gala was held 11 October 2015 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. The Honors and Awards program provides an opportunity for ISA to recognize outstanding individuals, corporations, and ISA sections and divisions for the contributions they have made to the Society and/or the automation industry.

This year’s event was hosted by Master of Ceremony Terry Ives, 2013 ISA President. ISA’s Celebrating Excellence Apex award was presented to over nine individual volunteers and an ISA section for their exceptional accomplishments in the field of automation and/or service to the Society. Also recognized were three honorees of the Member’s Choice Awards. Member’s Choice honorees are nominated and selected by member vote.

In addition to the Celebrating Excellence honorees, five Senior ISA Members, elevated to the distinguished grade of ISA Fellow, were also recognized. The grade of ISA Fellow is granted in recognition of outstanding achievements in scientific or engineering fields as recognized by ISA peers.

This year’s honoree guest list included individuals from such distant locals as Canada, Spain, and India. As a result, the event reinforced the important role ISA plays in educating, advancing, and recognizing the achievements of automation professionals around the world.

Following the evening’s presentations, honorees and their guests resumed their celebration in the hotel’s Rose Room, with entertainment provided by the local bluegrass band, RELIC Bluegrass. Click here for scenes from the awards program.

The nomination period for 2016 Celebrating Excellence nominations will be opened in the coming weeks. ISA invites you to review the Celebrating Excellence award categories at https://www.isa.org/members-corner/isa-honors-and-awards/ and identify and nominate individuals who deserve consideration for one or more of these prestigious recognitions.
