    The Automation Profession, are you up to date?
     Dean will discuss current developments and efforts underway to further the automation profession.  Primary topics covered are:
    1.       Workforce Development initiatives with the Automation Federation (AF) – learn more about the great programs the AF has been engaged in to develop our professionals of the future and promote our profession. College Programs being developed, US FIRST efforts, partnerships
    2.       Legislative update – what’s the AF doing lately with government to promote the profession.
    3.       Cyber Security (ISA99/ IEC62443) updates on current efforts with DHS, the President’s Executive Order.
    4.       HMI Standard (ISA101) updates – standard just made it through a critical vote.  What’s next? 

    There is a lot going on in our profession to be proud of.  Are you up to date?


    Dean FordDean Ford’s entire 20+ year career has involved industrial automation.  He is a Certified Automation Professional®, licensed Control Systems Engineer (CSE PE) and promotes manufacturing and automation to government and the public.  He is an active Senior Member in the International Society of Automation (ISA), and many Standards Committees.  He serves on the Government Relations and Workforce Development.
