Purpose

The Treasurer guides the Society's fiscal practices, serving a two-year term.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the Society’s finances
  • Assures that the Society’s accounting records and procedures are adequate for audit and report purposes
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Automation Standards Compliance Institute (ASCI)
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Automation.com

  • Finance Committee
  • Compensation Committee
  • Investment Committee

Preferred Experience/Knowledge

  • Prior experience on finance committee preferred
  • Has ability to clearly present complex financial issues in an informative and unbiased manner
  • Understanding of financial accounting and regulations, as well as investment practices and principles for a non-profit organization
  • Experience with responsibility of budget in operations, P&L responsibility preferred

Time Requirements

  • Executive Board Meetings – approximately 3 hours per month
  • Officer Meetings – approximately 3 hours per month
  • Finance Committee meetings - approximately 2 hours per month
  • Investment Committee meetings - approximately 2 hours per quarter
  • Annual Leadership Conference – 4 days
  • Strategic Leader Meeting – 3 days
  • Executive Summit – 3 days
