Latest Advances in Non-Invasive Transit-Time Flow Metering Technology

The ability to accurately and reliably measure the flow rates of liquids and gas from outside the pipe (non-intrusively) has long been the hope of process engineers, and the promise of ultrasonic technology.  Recent advances in clamp-on ultrasonic flow metering have made this a practical and affordable reality.

Today's most advanced Transit-Time flow meters are very accurate, highly versatile over a wide temperature range, exhibit excellent stability (even in small pipe and elevated temperature applications) and have the ability to operate reliably in the most difficult “real world” environments.  Their use is increasing at a rapid rate as a result of the recent advances in technology which have resulted in dramatic improvements in performance and reliability.

Within the next few years, as users increasingly gain confidence in the ability of clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters, these flow meters will come to be considered the primary standard of practical flow measurement.
