Introduction
to Thermal Imaging
Over
the past decade, Thermal Imagers have gone from a $20,000.00+
investment requiring a highly trained technician to a
sub-$10,000.00 investment that is no more difficult to operate
than a digital camera. With this change in pricing and
technology, Thermal Imaging has become an effective and affordable
diagnostic tool that any plant can take advantage of.
The
presentation will consist of the basics of operation through to
the latest software advances, and will provide a quick overview of
some of the advantages of the technology. Due to the nature
of the technology, a solid foundation is required to understand
which applications would benefit from this device. Some
specific topics that will be covered will be: emissivity, myths of
the measurement, and image analysis.
