I apologize to each of you for not being able to tour Medtronics and observe how they have implemented MES.  Medtronics is moving out of state and they are not ready yet.  This was beyond our control.  We hope, in the near future that we will be able to tour Medtronics.  We will keep you posted.

Our April 14^th meeting was held at Flour Daniel Room No. CN-7.  John Gong of Think & Do Software spoke about PC Based Control Systems.   I know that many of you have heard John speak when he was with Honeywell.  He is a great speaker and the topic was very interesting.

On May 12th we will hear a presentation on Optical Fibers for Data Communication by Richard Mayfield of Montgomery Watson.  I hope that many of you will attend this meeting.

We will visit the Getty Museum on June 5^th and will end the day with a picnic.  Limited seats are available.  As soon as you read this message, please call Deepak Vora for a reservation.  The charge is $5.00 a person.   We are looking for people with minivans so that we can van pool, since the Getty Museum has given us only 18 parking permits.  Please note that attendance for this tour is on a first come, first served basis.  So, do not delay.

This year we had a record number of board members attending the District 11 Workshop in Las Vegas.
