I am proud to announce that Don Zee received Distinguished Society Service Award and ISA OC Section received the Section Performance Award. Special thanks go to John Gong, our education chair. Because of John’s extra effort, we had three education seminars from normally two seminars we had in the past. I am sure those who were involved in the past will appreciate how much time and effort needed to complete these seminars. On behalf of ISA OC Section, I received a plaque and a check from Society President Hugh Roser.

I also attended ISA resource center where John Bloomer and Nancy Ferguson explained me the new format of "ISA Online Personal". This service will assist ISA members, in searching the Internet for topics of interest. This service will be available to the sections and each member by early 1999. We will be able send meeting notices and topics for the meeting using ISA Online. We are requesting the members to contact ISA or local ISA OC section and provide their e-mail address if they have not done yet.

We will have our first Education Seminar this year on November 14, 1998 at Fluor Daniel, Room CN-7. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Topic was "Get on the Right Bus: FieldBus or ProfiBus". We are expecting about 50 attendees.
