John Bloomer, ISA Manager of Section & Division Services, met with our board members for lunch on October 2, 1998. The meeting was excellent and productive. Our Program Chair, Deepak Vora, is working with John to generate a list to communicate with our members electronically. Our October 14^th meeting presentation, "Getting Object Oriented", by Robert Rennie, Object Automation, was very enjoyable and well received by those who attended the meeting.

We will be holding our first Education Seminar for this year on Saturday, November 14, 1998 at Fluor Daniel, Room CN-7. It will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue until 2:30 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided. The topic will be, "Get on the Right Bus: Foundation Fieldbus or Profibus".

Our annual Christmas Celebration and Award Ceremony will be held Sunday, December 6, 1998 at the Amada Club in Buena Park. Tickets are still available. A table of 10 cost $250 and individual tickets are $27 each. If you have not reserved your seat, please call me at (949) 875-3270.

Congratulations to George Thuro, senior control systems engineer with the Orange County Sanitation District, who will honored and receive our Don Zee award at the Christmas Celebration and Award Ceremony. George has been a senior member of the ISA Orange County Section for more than 20 years.
