  1. Call to Order / Opening Comments – Bis Mitra

         Bis Mitra opened the Meeting at 7:15 PM.

  1. Board Meeting Minutes Approval – Christine Tachdjian

The January 13, 1999 Board meeting minutes were approved by Troy Johnson and 2nd by John Querido.

  1. Treasurer’s Report – Terry Sellers

Not Present – No Report

  1. Programs – Deepak Vora/Meenakshi Govil

Program topic for March will Manufacturing Execution System MES 101.

April Topic will be an MES related tour.

May Program will be on Fiber Optics.

June Program will be the Getty Museum Tour and Picnic

  1. Arrangements – Al Thawer

  1. Education – John Gong

Education Seminar on Windows CE on February 27th .

  1. Membership – Don Zee / Mai Luu

Membership for the Section has dropped from 709 to 609. $25.00 Incentive still remains for Board Members who recruit 10 new members.

  1. Honors Awards – Carl Skokan

Nomination of Awards is underway. Any nomination should be sent to Carl.

  1. Student Section – Jim Cody

There was a meeting on campus last Friday but Jim could not attend. Jim will meet with student section members and E-mail outcome of meeting to Board early next week.

Students are getting ready for the Student competition to be held on May 18th at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Brea.

  1. Standards and Practices – Earl Montgomery

  1. Publicity - Jim Utt

Jim Utt has a new phone number due to his recent move : (714) 738-5523

He will publish Education Seminar Meeting date on LA Times and Register.

  1. Historian / Sec. Div Liaison / Society Delegate – John Querido

  1. Web Page – Bob Harrison
  2. Bob will add Hit Number on Web Page.

    He is also working on adding links to ISA Division Sections.

    Also discussed was to put a plan forward for Web Page Authoring Backup for Bob.

  3. Old Business - Bis Mitra

During President’s Meeting in San Diego, with Kim Miller’s help a presentation was made to bring the ISA Expo/Tech back to Anaheim. The presentation was well received and the possibility of ISA Expo to return to Anaheim is very favorable.

  1. New Business – All

A suggestion was made to let the student section host the ISA Web Page.

Discussion was made regarding Chart Mailer. Should the Section adopt E-mail as a means to send Chart? This would require acquiring and updating E-mail addresses of members. Further discussions need to be made.

Bis requested that we pay the additional $200 for insurance coverage up to 250 people. Current coverage is for 100 people in meetings. Since no decision could be made, John Querido motioned to continue this discussion at the next ISA meeting. Jim Utt 2nd the motion.

Christmas Party for 1999 could be held at 2 locations. Petroleum Club on Saturday December 4th vs Amada Club on Sunday December 5th.

Motion was moved by Deepak to hold the Christmas Party on the Saturday 4th. Christine Tachdjian 2nd the motion.
