The Yorba Linda Water District traces its roots back to 1909 and is one of
Orange County’s oldest utility companies, providing water and wastewater
service to more than 75,000 residents in portions of Yorba Linda, Placentia,
Anaheim, Brea and unincorporated Orange County. For more information please

Yorba Linda Water District started move away from chart based telemetry to a
modern SCADA system in 1980-81 and over a the years evolved from hard coded
RTUs & custom computer systems to PAC controls with function blocks and object
based programmed SCADA systems, and client servers based systems. Through a
collaborative effort between the Operators and SCADA staff the District had made
great strides by improving operational efficiency, lowering energy costs, and
added reliability with redundant commutations. The Districts SCADA application
will be described followed by questions & answers and a quick tour of the live
application by the following YLWD personnel: .

Tour Leaders:
John Decriscio is the Chief Plant Operator for Yorba Linda Water District
where he has worked for 13 years, he holds a California state Water Treatment
T-3, a Water Distribution D-5 license. John is responsible for water production,
water distribution, and SCADA operations for the District.
Rick Walkemeyer is the SCADA Administrator for Yorba Linda Water District where
he has worked for 16 years, he holds a California state Water Treatment T-3, a
Water Distribution D-5 license, and is an ISA Certified Automation Professional
(CAP). Rick is Responsible SCADA system from the field devices, communication,
development, servers, historian, HMI’s systems for the District.
