FOX RIVER VALLEY SECTION OF ISA LEADERS MEETING OF DEC. 6, 2011
MEETING MINUTES
In attendance at this meeting were Chuck Stapleman, Jason Haines, Jeff Chamberlain and John Daoust.
A motion from Chuck and a second by Jason approved the minutes of the leaders meeting held on October 11, 2011.
Jeff reported that if we have a members meeting at Fox Valley Technical College that the space will be free and the meals would be $9-10 per person.
After discussion, it still sounded favorable for a tour of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant in April or May.
We discussed the last members meeting. Jeff thought it would be a good idea if we had a survey to fill out after the meetings to critique and get ideas for future meetings. The board will be asked for question ideas and Jeff has some surveys he can check on. It was decided that Cal and Jeff would put together a survey for the next meeting.
Jeff and Cal are to send out the scholarship letters. Jason motioned with a second by Chuck to keep the scholarship amounts the same as last year. The motion passed.
Discussion followed on a topic for the January / February members meeting.
- To follow up the last meeting topic Jason suggested Networking with
Windows 7 and older operating systems.
- Chuck offered a talk on IR temperature sensing.
- Possible tour at Kohler (from Guy’s list).
- Talk by Walt Boyes of Control Magazine.
- Marinette Marine on instrumentation on the large boats.
- Network and/or Control System Security. (possibly Tom or Dan)
Jason says it is too late to schedule a vendors show. Maybe we could try having a vendor table(s) at the members meetings.
Jeff suggested that an ISA member give a short talk about ISA at a tech school Electronics meeting. (Are there any volunteers?)
Suggested to ask Tom if he would set up a spring golf outing.
Chuck made a motion and Jason seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed.
