Report on ISA Annual Golf Outing September 19, 2002 The Annual ISA Golf Outing was held at the Rockland Country Club on Thursday, September 19th. The weather is about the best I've seen for this time of year. It was warm, but not hot or humid. Perfect golf weather and excellent company as well! We started the day with a casual lunch. All those who attended received a complementary ISA golf shirt (thank to the talents of Mike McNeil). Tee times were between 12pm and 1pm. The last team finished around 4:30pm in the afternoon. This year we played a best ball scramble that added to team spirits. Dinner was provided by Putters Restaurant at the Rockland Golf Club. We had a quick meeting with some key elections. Adam Brewer was voted as President, Chuck Kelley as Vice President, and Herb Short continues as Treasurer. However, the role of Secretary has not been filled and we are looking for a volunteer for this position. Please let me know if there is any interest. After dinner, we handed out some awards and held a raffle. My thanks to all for their kind donations and sponsorships! Upcoming meetings include the following: October 24th: Red Hook Brewery, Portsmouth, NH. Tour, lunch and meeting beginning at 10:30am. Detailed information provided below. November 7th: Northern Maine Technical College, Presque Isle, ME. Tour, lunch, meeting, and tour of McCain Foods. Please note: in order to attend the McCain Foods tour, you must pre-register with Chuck Kelley - see detailed information listed below. This day begins at 10am. January 16th: New England Controls, Bangor, ME. Valve seminar, lunch and meeting. This day will begin at 11am. We are hoping everyone can attend. Invitation to Vendors and Golfers Seventh Annual Golf Outing and Farnsworth Museum Visit Thursday September 19, 2002 (Rain date September 26, 2002) Rockland Golf Club, Rockland, Maine You are invited to participate in the ISA - Downeast Maine Section 7th Annual Golf Outing. Proceeds from the Golf Outing will support the Scholarship fund. Tee off time will be between 12:00 noon and 1:00pm. Teams will all tee off on the 1st hole. If the number of golfers is large enough, we will ask Rockland Golf Club for a shot gun start. The cost is $65.00 per person. The cost includes green fees, golf cart, and a buffet dinner. A cash bar will be available. Non-golfers wishing to attend the dinner only can do so at a cost of $20.00. Lunch is available at the Rockland Golf Club, but is not included in the above cost. We also invite the vendors to sponsor a hole. A sign recognizing the vendor's contribution will be placed at a tee for a nominal fee of $100 per hole. Vendors are asked to provide their own signs. Vendors should bring their signs to the Rockland Golf Club 1 hour prior to tee off time. Vendors may donate prizes to be given away to participants. We will list all sponsors and donors of prizes in the October newsletter. Please note on the registration forms that you are providing a prize, so we can recognize all contributors. Also for the non-golfers, there will be tickets provided for visiting the world famous Farnsworth Museum that features a most impressive Wyeth Collection. The cost for the tickets will be $9 per person. People that sign up for the Museum will meet at the Rockland Golf Club at 12:00pm and car pool to downtown Rockland.
