ISA Meeting Announcement

Downeast ISA's next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 24th, 2005 and will be hosted at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle, Maine. This event will be held in conjunction with the Student Games Bowl competition. Scores from this competition and from the Practical competition held on March 7th (fiber optics) will be used to select a team that will represent ISA District 1 at the International Student Games in Chicago this fall. During the Bowl competition, four person teams will compete head-to-head in a question and answer format using a custom made scoring/timing system that tracks both individual and team scores. The questions will cover topics such as basic electronics, digital basics, electrical code, computer networking and motor controls and should be a nice review for the members of the audience. We encourage all ISA members and other interested parties to attend this event.

The agenda for the day is as follows:

10:30 to 11:30 am - Tours of the NMCC trade programs laboratories starting in the instrumentation and controls lab (CHR 111).

11:45 am - Free Lunch in the Keagan Room with a quick ISA meeting and a presentation of NMCC's new Industrial Automation on-line certificate programs.

1:00 pm - Student Games Bowl Competition in the Edmonds Conference Center

2:15 pm - Refreshments and intermission

2:30 pm - Awards and door prizes

3:00pm - End

Please RSVP to our Student Section Advisor, Chuck Kelley nckelley@nmcc.edu so we can get an accurate count for lunch.
