18th Annual Joint ISA
POWID/EPRI Controls and Instrumentation Conference
51st Annual ISA POWID
Symposium
Authors,
welcome to our conference. Every spring ISA POWID and EPRI host this technical
conference specifically dedicated to Automation and Instrumentation in the
Power Industry. Over the years many innovations in automation have been
presented at this conference. The forum has rigid non-commercial requirements
and peer review for all technical papers assuring high quality technical
content, which sets this conference apart from most other industry conferences.
This guideline is intended to provide you information regarding the format and
submission of your technical paper and presentations. If you have any
questions, please contact your session developer who is also listed on the
program.

Paper, R&R and
Presentation Submittals:
Please
submit all of your documents for the conference to your session developer with
a copy to the program co-chairs, Don Labbe and Aaron Hussey (Donald.Labbe@IPS.Invensys.com
and AHussey@EPRI.com). Due to the large
volume of email transmittals being handled by our conference volunteers, please
assist us by applying the following email procedures:
Applying
this procedure will stream line the processing of your documents and reduce the
risk of lost or misplaced documents. We have very tight schedule requirements
to complete the technical paper peer reviews and meet the CD publication
deadline of May 5th and the subsequent presentation deadline of May
30th, so your cooperation is very much appreciated.
Technical Paper
Guidelines:
Technical
papers are published and distributed on the conference CD provided the final paper and completed R&R form have been submitted prior to the deadline of May 5th.
There are three ISA documents that provide the guidelines for preparation of
your technical paper:
It is a firm ISA policy that content cannot be commercial in
nature and cannot represent a sales pitch for a product, service, or company.
Please remember that your colleagues are interested in your technical-based
solutions to industrial problems. Identification of an author's affiliation in
the title and one mention of a trade
name or trademark in the body of the paper
or presentation are acceptable.
Presentation
Guidelines:
Presentations are not included on the conference CD. All presentation must apply the ISA POWID/EPRI Microsoft® PowerPoint® template
available from the ISA POWID conference web site. Identification
of an author's affiliation in the title and one mention of a trade name or
trademark in the body of the presentation are acceptable.
Draft presentations must be submitted for review by May 16th
and final presentations submitted by May 30th. Authors may
distribute the presentation at the session, provided the presentation has been approved through the review process.
