Invensys in the loop

One year after unveiling the Invensys partnership with SAP’s NetWeaver, Invensys launched two packaged composite applications (PCAs) in an effort to push business improvements from the plant floor through the enterprise.
Invensys’s Vice President Peter Martin and Wonderware Marketing Vice President, Mark Davidson unveiled the two xMII XApps today at The ARC Forum’s in Orlando, Fla.
The two PCAs are the Real-Time Finance and the Real-Time Production Execution and they will center on the packaged goods and chemical industries.
Real-Time Finance helps align manufacturing operations to allow for real time information on production-related financial performance.
“Financial system can be used for much more than financial reporting,” Martin said.
“You are turning your front line people – the people that make or lose the most money in your operation – into business managers,” Martin said. This system “allows plant floor personnel to behave in a manner that drives business value.” Similar to a control loop, “in short, this is a business loop.”
The Real-Time Production Execution system provides a pre-integrated way to dispatch, execute, monitor, and evaluation into manufacturing production and performance in discrete, batch and hybrid plant operations.

What if there was a certain concept ... a phenomena ... a practical concept ... that would CRYSTALYZE all the areas of real time insight and automation that DR. Martin has so well envisaged and brought to life (these are all the different faces of a crystal, as I see it) and some that are waiting for that something to crystallize all of them into the matrix of a crystal ... bringing everything that Dr. Martin has championed suddenly into a worldwide “eBusiness Fabric” that goes straight down the road that Dr Martin has created in virtual expectation and reality?!

Suppose from every producer, manufacturer, distributor, transporter, reseller ... in the World, one can access -

... all the inventory of any chemical online – that others want to place there.
... all the inventory of available capacity online.
... all the dead stocks online.
... all the real time production (in tune with whatever business strategies they belong to ... visible ... invisible ... private ...) available in real time.
... all the demand seen in real time.
... all the available logistics online ... with all the intrinsic attributes.
... all the financial SCM online with their intrinsic attributes.
... all ported in to a SCM capability.
… etc.

Imagine the elimination of huge inventories that are otherwise a waste or a potential pollutant ... imagine the optimization of world resources ... imagine the drop in demand of resources that otherwise would be locked in dead stocks and waste !!!

That is my project that marries automation and the finger-on-the-pulse that corporations and business need – big and small – ... coming from a Process Engineer who has been doing simulations (which is a window and an under-estimated insight or a “touch-stone” that can be applied to real corporate operations all the way up to Board level Decisions)

... it can begin here … all STARTING here ... for the entire world's chemicals - oil - gas - industries ... like a eBusiness Tsunami!

There is indeed such a nascent, potential, phenomenal concept with the many of the needed “infrastructure piles” already in place and owned by me - as an individual.

... it’s achievable with simplicity and at same time ultimate sophistication
... owned by me and so, not bogged down by any corporation inertias or such
… I need a like minded mentor-champion-sponsor to take it on ... at a corporate level such as Invensys-SAP, Siemens-UGS, Honeywell, Oracle ...

… It’s a system that can be brought to life and implemented worldwide through the Internet within 6 to 9 months and can change the entire chemical industry landscape like no other thing will ever be able to again
... it's how eBusiness should be done ... instruments and plants integrated in real time with Enterprise hierarchies.

Now, there is only one blog here and that too from Feb 13, 2007 - so this will be just a "tree falling in the forest" and no one to hear it.
Drop me a line at

Thank you.

PS: "Talk to me" and my "tree in the forest" ? ... this is a lonely place to drop my b"log" ... but most appropriate because I need a dry run at this and hopefully someone who looks at "out of the box" places will find it and will have the same mindset as what I and this needs to launch it off.
