Description:

In this seminar, the importance of and an introduction to the methodology of measurement in control will be discussed and process control will be defined. The definition and technology of a loop and of the control loop will be covered. This seminar will also discuss control strategies and provide an introduction to controller tuning. ISA standard piping and instrument diagram (P&ID) symbols are introduced and used throughout the seminar materials.

You will be able to:

  • Identify the operation and components of a feedback control loop
  • Recognize the role of measurement and control in industrial processes
  • Interpret measurement and control technology
  • Explain the fundamental concepts of controller tuning

Equipment and System Requirements:

  • Touch-tone telephone with a speakerphone for the audio portion of the live seminars

  • Java-enabled browser (Netscape Navigator 4.04 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later)
  • Computer monitor large enough for all participants to view or projection system for presentation to larger audiences
