Overview

Presenter: Sam Herb

Length: 90 Minutes

Claimed to be PLCs that act like DCSs, various people define these systems differently: by functions, by industries served, by architecture, and even by no label at all. This brief exploration of the issues will help understand & reduce confusion about these new systems.

  • Recognize differences between PLCs, DCSs, and Hybrid Systems.
  • Help others in your plant understand Hybrid System basics.
  • Develop insights needed for selecting a system.

Proposed Audience

  • Process engineers & technical people who are now expected to work with a new hybrid system.
  • Plant personnel who must now specify and/or purchase a new control system.
  • People already familiar with PLCs or DCSs, but need to know how and where Hybrid Systems differ.
  • Anyone who wants to learn the semantics of (exuberant) supplier marketing so they can make reasonable comparisons.

About Archived Web Seminars

In today's work environment, there is limited time devoted to training. ISA now offers you the option of accessing a Web seminar at a time that is convenient for you.

ISA's archived Web seminars give you the same benefits as attending the live seminar broadcast, including hearing the instructor while simultaneously viewing the PowerPoint presentation. The only difference between the two is that the archived seminars do not allow for participation in a live Q & A session.

NOTE: You have three (3) weeks from the time you purchase the web seminar to complete.

Special Note! You can get this seminar and many more for free if you join ISA as a full member. Click here for details.
