Workplace Reading: Inference

This course is one in a series which moves beyond just teaching students to read. It teaches students how to learn and apply their new skills directly to their work. Students learn to interpret what they are reading and to think critically. Deductive reasoning is stressed to help in preparing them for an in-depth study of technical skills. Students also learn how to use important reference materials. Topics covered include:

-Using classification
-Understanding how to use comparison
-Identify an extended analogy
-Recognition of cause and effect relationships
-Understanding what interference means
-Making logical conclusions
-Making judgments based on information found in a paragraph
