This is one of a five-part series which will teach your employees the proper procedures for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting centrifugal pumps. It discusses pump basics and terminology, mechanical seals, bearing failure, cavitation, entrainment, and disassembly and repair. A specific course has been created explaining the theoretical principles of interpreting pump performance curves, Affinity Laws, and matching specifications of a system to its application.

This course focuses on the reassembly, installation, and start-up of a centrifugal pump, including safety precautions. The course covers inspection of components and replacement parts, including mechanical seals and compression packing, checking internal clearances, rigging, mounting, and alignment. Finally, precautions to take during start-up, monitoring an operating pump, and adjustments to be made following start-up are discussed. Topics include:
