Automation Federation co-sponsoring 15 May 2013 webinar, “Exploring Unmanned Vehicles,” spotlighting innovations in unmanned systems
Free presentation offers unique opportunity to interact with a leading innovator
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA (9 May 2013) – The Automation Federation is co-sponsoring, along with The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA) and Product Design & Development magazine, a complimentary webinar on unmanned vehicles to be held 15 May 2013 at 11 a.m., eastern standard time.
The webinar, part of the IET Great Minds on Innovation Webinar series, will be presented by COL (RET) Jerry LeMieux, Ph.D, the President of Unmanned Vehicles University (UVU) who was recently featured on ABC’s 'Nightline' television news program. UVU is the only university in the world licensed to grant degrees in unmanned systems engineering.

Dr. LeMieux’s extensive research, experience and interest in unmanned vehicle technology prompted him to train unmanned systems engineers and launch Unmanned Vehicles University. Graduates of the Unmanned Vehicles University enter career fields in the areas of R&D, vehicle design, sensor development, vehicle communications and data links, sense and avoid systems, human machine interfaces, autonomous control, vehicle navigation, alternative power and operations.
Dr. LeMieux received bachelor of science, master of science, and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering. He has 40 years of flying experience, including many as a USAF fighter pilot/Top Gun and 20 years as a commercial pilot at Delta airlines.
