ISA Analysis Division Announces the Appointment of Tracy Dye of ABB Analytics to the Position of Director Elect-elect

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA (7 September 2011) – The International Society of Automation (ISA) announce today that Tracy Dye of ABB Analytical Measurement has been appointed director elect-elect of the ISA Analysis Division.

Dye is currently the director of Product Development and Marketing for the ABB Analytical Measurement product group and is located in Lewisburg West Virginia, USA. Dye has a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University. He has 20 years of experience in product development and manufacturing, including 15 years of experience at ABB working in the process analytical business. Dye is a registered professional engineer in the state of Virginia. He is active in the technical societies of ISA, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), International Foundation Process Analytical Chemistry (IFPAC) and the Center for Process Analysis and Control (CPAC) for the New Sampling/Sensor Initiative (NeSSI)

Dye will assume the directorship of the Analysis Division for the 2015-2016 term when he succeeds Don Nettles of Chevron Energy Technology (director 2013-2014), who in turn succeeds Randy Hauer of AMETEK Process Instruments (director 2011-2012). The Analysis Division has a 57-year history of hosting a symposium that is considered to be the formative event on the topic of process analytics. The ISA Analysis Division maintains a strong line of leadership continuity to provide direction for the symposium and technical content to its worldwide members.

The Analysis Division is one of 16 ISA technical divisions. It contributes to the careers of professionals who are involved in every aspect of process stream and laboratory methods of analysis—from theory and development to application, training, calibration and more. The division’s role at ISA is to facilitate program development, implementation and effectiveness through integrated planning, measurement, evaluation and interventions; and to support members’ specialties, such as spectroscopy, chromatography, electrochemistry and sample handling.

Peer-to-peer communications are available on the division website, through newsletters and a member list serve. Membership in ISA’s Analysis Division provides access to a network of knowledge, and opportunities to develop expertise and share it with fellow professionals. Its annual symposium is rich with technical content, education and professional networking.
