ISA Announces 3rd Annual Automation Executive Summit to be held at ISA EXPO
Research Triangle Park, NC (22 April 2009) – The International Society of Automation (ISA) will host its 3rd Annual Automation Executive Summit on 7 October 2009 at the Reliant Center in Houston, Texas. The summit will take place during ISA EXPO, held 6-8 October, as part of an expanded set of offerings to be known as Automation Week. ISA EXPO—with its vibrant automation executive community, strong technical content, and significant educational opportunities—offers a prime setting for the annual Summit.
More than a dozen corporate executives from around the world took part in last year's Automation Executive Summit. The executives met at the table to focus on workforce development issues impacting the automation profession, including the development of an automation engineering curriculum and public advocacy for the profession.
"The collaboration of corporate executives representing many facets of the profession has helped surface issues and identify common themes that we as dedicated automation professionals simply cannot ponder and act upon alone. Those who have attended the Summit in past years have contributed to the ongoing strategic discussion that is intended to shape the automation community for decades to come," said Patrick Gouhin, executive director and CEO, ISA.
The 2009 Summit agenda will help facilitate discussions around advancing the course of the automation profession by promoting workforce development in multiple areas, including public advocacy and government relations.
