ISA Announces "The Pathway to Power Automation for the 2010 Decade" POWID Symposium
Research Triangle Park, NC (1 April 2008) - This summer, ISA will host the 18th Annual Joint ISA POWID/EPRI Controls and Instrumentation Conference and the 51st Annual POWID Division Symposium. The annual event will be held 8-13 June at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort and Villas in Scottsdale, AZ.
The theme for this conference is "The Pathway to Power Automation for the 2010 Decade" and the conference will provide power industry leaders with information on the latest innovations in instrumentation, automation, security and business systems technology. The conference brings together industry professionals in the power generation field with a primary focus on instrumentation and controls.
Over 50 technical papers and presentations during joint sessions with fossil and nuclear focus are anticipated to be presented during the symposium, making it the largest single event of its type. Additional schedule items include:

* EPRI Interest Group Meeting
* ISA Power Plant Standards working group meetings

Delivering the Conference Welcome Address is ISA President Kim Miller-Dunn and among other distinguished speakers, Harsh Chitale, vice president Strategy and Global Marketing, Honeywell Process Solutions, and Glen Reeves, manager, Power Generation Salt River Project are scheduled to deliver the Conference Keynote Address and the Conference Honors and Awards Address, respectively.
The Power Division of ISA holds a conference annually at various locations across the USA and Canada. The conference has become an international event with participants from around the world. In 1992, EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) came on board as a co-sponsor of the event. In addition to the technical sessions, the conference also hosts various interest group meetings, ISA Power Plant Standards working group meetings, and vendor exhibits.
