ISA Releases "Alarm Management: Seven Effective Methods for Optimum Performance" - Update to Press Release of 16 April 07

Research Triangle Park, NC (7 June 2007) - ISA recently announced the publication of "Alarm Management: Seven Effective Methods for Optimum Performance" by Bill R. Hollifield and Eddie Habibi of PAS in Houston, Texas. 

This book describes how properly designed and maintained alarm systems dramatically improve plant safety, reliability, and profitability. Using a seven step approach, the authors explain how to improve the performance process control alarm systems, including benchmarking alarm system performance against industry best practices, developing a detailed and comprehensive alarm philosophy document, proven methods for solving common alarm problems, rationalizing alarms, and applying real-time alarm management optimization strategies. 

Combining more than a decade of research with experience from alarm management professionals, this comprehensive resource shares field-proven methodology that has enabled industrial plants worldwide to improve alarm management systems and their responsiveness to abnormal situations.
