ISA Releases Industrial Network Security Resource

Research Triangle Park, NC (25 April 2005) - ISA-The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society - recently announced the release of Industrial Network Security by David J. Teumim.

The emerging field of Industrial Network Security came to the forefront after the September 11th terrorist attacks.  Process control systems for chemical plants and refineries, SCADA networks for utilities, and factory automation systems for discrete manufacturing are becoming more vital each day.  Every area of the industry needs protection from hackers, disgruntled employees, and even cyber terrorists.

This easy-to-read book provides an introduction to the field of Industrial Network Security and leverages the technical information ISA has developed in its short courses and conferences. It includes a brief tutorial on the basics of IT cyber security for the uninitiated.

Industrial Network Security also takes a look at the many different organizations contributing to this area. Although most of industrial network security is cyber in nature, it includes summaries of physical and personnel security to round out this new field.
