Patrick Gouhin to Join ISA as Executive Director

Research Triangle Park, NC (6 December 2005) – Don Zee, President of ISA, announced the hiring of Patrick Gouhin as Executive Director. At a special meeting of ISA's Executive Board today, the Board accepted Gouhin's nomination from its Search Committee and appointed him to the position. Gouhin will join ISA on 3 January 2006.

"Pat's experience and aptitude make him an excellent choice to help our organization in this exciting period of renewal," said Zee. "We are confident in his ability to work with our leadership, members, customers, and staff to lead ISA in setting the standard for automation."

Gouhin is currently Chief Operating Officer of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).   In his 15-year tenure with AIAA, he was responsible for developing organizational strategies; launching numerous new ventures; enhancing the effectiveness of publishing, training, and student programs; and conceiving strategic marketing and communications programs.

"I have tremendous respect for the legacy of ISA and am excited about becoming involved at this time when the organization is clarifying its position in the automation community," said Gouhin. "ISA's future is bright because of its strong foundation of products, services, committed leaders, and industry support.  I am honored to be selected as Executive Director and look forward to taking responsibility for helping the Society achieve our mission."

Gouhin has a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from The Ohio State University and a master's in engineering management from George Washington University.
