Description:

This is the fourth of six seminars focusing on the Control Systems Engineer (CSE) PE examination. It will give you a quick overview of the most likely exam topics in control loops, methods of loop documentation, various loop types, characteristics of control function, and some loop tuning principles. Controllers and their function are included in the application portion of the review. Some advanced control techniques are also surveyed.

  • Define the overall control loop function
  • Explain process control system application
  • Discuss methods for documentation for P&IDs
  • List loop characteristics and process response
  • Identify areas of focus for more effective studying in:
    • Functions of applied control loops
    • Controller actions and proper application
    • Dynamics of process response
    • Using the correct control laws according to requirements
    • Using the correct loop and control system documentation

  • Individuals who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam

Equipment & System Requirements:
