Description:

This is the third of six seminars focused on the Control Systems Engineer (CSE) PE examination. It will give you a quick review of the base primary measurements of flow, level and temperature. The topics include units of measurement, sensor types, transmitter fundamentals, selection considerations and applications. The correct installation considerations are also reviewed.

• Identify flow sensor types and characteristics
• List units of measurement
• Record flow measurement calculation techniques
• Discuss signals and transmission considerations
• Identify areas of focus for more effective studying in:
  • Flow measurement devices
  • Flow measurement requirements and priority
  • Signal levels and transmission techniques

You will cover:

• Volumetric and Mass Flow Units
• Flow Measurement Sensors and Applications
• Calculation Basics and Applications
• Measurement (Flow)
  • In Domain I of CSE Exam (5 questions or 6% of exam)
• Signals and Transmission
  • In Domain II of CSE Exam (10 questions or 12.5% of test)

Who should attend?

• Engineers with four or more (4+) years in control systems engineering
• Individuals who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
• Employees of engineering companies
• Engineers working with industrial companies

Equipment and System Requirements:

• Touch-tone telephone with a speakerphone for the audio portion of the live seminars

• Java-enabled browser (Netscape Navigator 4.04 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later)
