Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other manufacturing operation systems, such as maintenance and quality management, are difficult to specify, design, and implement. These systems often overlap with business logistics systems, batch execution systems, manual and automated control systems. They also have significant integration requirements with other systems.
