"Provided basic background of fieldbus technology before jumping into the specific buses." —Jeffrey Bekasi
This seminar briefly covers the development of the ANSI/ISA50 standard, which is the driving force behind the Foundation fieldbus technology. Both Foundation Fieldbus H1 (31.25 kbits/s) and HSE (High-Speed Ethernet) buses are discussed. Benefits and cost savings of Foundation Fieldbus technology compared to system architectures of the past ( e.g. asset management) are covered, as well as how Foundation Fieldbus networks are put together and configured. Operation, troubleshooting, availability, and safety aspects are also covered.
You will be able to:
Recognize key concepts and terminology
Identify the benefits and cost savings of Foundation Fieldbus
Explain how Fieldbus segments are built, including device requirements, wiring methodology, and segment configuration
Discuss how Foundation Fieldbus compares to other industrial bus systems
Recognize the purpose of the Fieldbus Foundation
Describe Foundation Fieldbus interoperability and interoperability testing by the Fieldbus Foundation
You will cover:
Foundation Fieldbus: Terminology | Technology | H1 | High Speed Ethernet Networks
Comparison of Other Industrial Bus Protocols
Foundation Fieldbus Technology: Cost Savings | Operational Benefits
Foundation Fieldbus H1 Network: Configuration | Operation | Wiring
Includes ISA Standard:
ANSI/ISA50.00.01-1975 (R2002) - Compatibility of Analog Signals for Electronic Industrial Process Instruments
