Click here to view list of Web Seminar offerings.

Description:

Participants will learn how to successfully conduct a human machine interface (HMI) project, about best practices when conducting a HMI project, and how to protect a HMI system against various risks.

After completing this seminar you will be able to plan a HMI project with the required project phases, and how to avoid some common process graphic display design pitfalls. You will also be able to explain why it is important to consider HMI system lifecycle and network topologies when selecting a HMI system. You will also learn some fundamental steps for protecting HMI and control systems from various risks.

You will be able to:

  • Recognize what system design "hot topics" need to be addressed when conducting a HMI project
  • Identify best practices when conducting a HMI project
  • Recognize how to improve a poorly designed process graphic display
  • Learn about some HMI system lifecycle considerations that need to be taken into account when selecting an HMI System
  • Discuss how HMI and control system network topologies affect HMI subsystem performance
  • Explain how to protect HMI and control systems

You will cover:

  • HMI System Design Concepts: HMI Project Phases | Sequential vs. Concurrent Engineering | Example GUI Functional Requirements Excerpt | System Design Considerations
  • HMI Applications Design Concepts: Best Practices for Conducting HMI Projects | Graphical Display Dynamic Elements | Building HMI Graphical User Interface Displays | Critique of Example Process Graphic Display | HMI and Control System Application Aspects | HMI and Control System Network Topologies
  • HMI Security & Integrity Considerations: HMI and Control System Security and Integrity Threats | System Integrity Protection | Disaster Recovery Considerations | Virus/Worm/Internet Intrusion Threats

Pricing:

  • $195 per site per seminar for ISA Members
  • $225 per site per seminar for nonmembers

*Please note that all US and Canadian participants will dial into a toll-free number. All non-US or non-Canadian participants will dial into a toll number and be charged by the long distance provider for the call.
