Description:
Wireless sensor networks allow stable system operation in facilities where the ambient RF and environmental conditions change. The fundamental underpinnings of a wireless sensor module are augmented by a discussion of networking techniques resulting in descriptions of various types of wireless sensor network topologies. An extensive review of 802.15.4-based wireless sensor networks culminates in specific examples of ZigBee, ISA100.11a and Wireless HART wireless sensor networks.
You will be able to:
-
Identify technology applicable for wireless sensor networks
-
Explain the fundamentals of networking
-
Describe how various radios support differing network topologies
-
Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various wireless sensor network technologies
-
Define ZigBee, ISA100.11a and Wireless HART networks
-
Compare leading methodologies for commercially available sensors
-
Identify problems in industrial automation
You will cover:
-
Just the Wireless Basics: Classic Wireless Sensor Design | Frequencies |
-
Spread Spectrum Technologies (DSSS, FHSS) | Multiplexing Techniques
-
Wireless Communication Fundamentals: Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) layered model | Topologies | An 802.15.1 (Bluetooth) network | Network topologies supported by 802.15.4
-
