Description:

This seminar covers grounding requirements, concepts, and applications in the measurement and control areas. Terminologies, types of grounding systems, and shielding relevant to grounding are areas of emphasis.

You will be able to:

  • Define the terminologies surrounding grounds and grounding in measurement and control applications
  • Discuss the grounding philosophies employed in measurement and control applications
  • Explain the concept of shielding as related to grounding
  • Identify the best grounding and shielding approach for different applications

You Will Cover:

  • Grounding: What is a Ground? | What Must be Grounded? | What May Not be Grounded? | Intentional Grounding Systems | Separately Grounded Systems
  • Types of Grounding Systems: Ground Considerations | Single Point Ground (DC to Low Frequency Signals) | Low Frequency Multi-Point | High Frequency Single Point Ground | High Frequency/Low Frequency Model | Series Ground
  • Shielding: Field Definitions | Electrostatic Shielding | Electromagnetic Shielding | Shielding Applications

Equipment and System Requirements:

  • Touch-tone telephone with a speakerphone for the audio portion of the live seminars
  • Internet connection running at 28.8 bps or faster
  • Java-enabled browser (Netscape Navigator 4.04 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later)
