2012 ISA Safety and Security Division Symposium

Wednesday, 25 April 2012 through Friday, 27 April 2012

Crowne Plaza Anaheim
Anaheim, CA , United States

The last day to pre-register online was April 27, 2012.

Get ready for a much larger, and more in-depth 2012 ISA Safety and Security Division Symposium!

Sponsored by the ISA Safety and Security Division, the 2012 ISA Safety and Security Division Symposium will provide an in-depth look at today's safety technologies and procedures associated with identifying and mitigating safety hazards in industrial environments. New this year, two technical tracks will be offered; one focusing on safety topics, such as Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), standards, alarm management; and one covering topics related to security, including cybersecurity, control systems security, security standards, and much more. Papers and presentations will cover process automation solutions, design challenges, best practices, and lessons learned--all critical areas for industrial automation safety and security.

The technical program will include presentations and demonstrations that will challenge attendees and presenters alike, and provide practical and useful guidance for:

  • designing industrial processes
  • selecting SIS
  • protecting systems against cyber threats
    and unsafe, dangerous failures

The symposium will include expert-led sessions, ISA training, NEW half-day workshops, social functions, vendor exhibits, and more. See the Program tab for information on sessions and one-day workshops.

Why attend?

This forum allows leaders and experts on safety and security to transfer information to professionals through paper presentations and panel discussions. It's a unique opportunity to network with industry peers who are devoted to improving processes, keeping plants safe, and working toward eliminating cyber threats. If you are involved in the safety or security aspects of control systems, processes, plant operations, networks, or more, the 2012 ISA Safety  and Security Division Symposium is for you!

Expanded program for 2012—submit an abstract for consideration to present today!

The Call for Papers has been issued. The deadline to submit an abstract was 15 December 2011.

ISA’s Safety and Security Division Symposium is THE venue for sharing knowledge and solutions, and for addressing important issues as they relate to industrial automation safety and security concerns. It is an opportunity for automation and control professionals to share best practices and lessons learned, so that future critical errors and threats can be avoided. It also offers others the tools to better handle critical issues as they occur.

What is learned and shared here has a tremendous impact over business areas and can greatly affect production downtime, revenue, and performance—not to mention the safety and security of the public! With an expanded program spanning over two full days and two individual tracks the 2012 ISA Safety and Security Division Symposium will be one event not too miss.

Don't miss your opportunity to share your expertise and knowledge with peers at one of ISA's most important symposia.
