To help prepare you for the Level II exam, this Study Guide provides three sample problems of the types presented on the exam. This includes the actual Sample Problem and Latent Pen from the Level II examination. It also provides you with an explanation of how the exam is constructed, how it is to be completed, and how it is scored. ISA’s CCST® Level II Exam tests the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to solve practical problems encountered everyday on the job. This exam presents a series of problems based on scenarios that present practical situations that you are likely to face (or have faced) on the job. Most of the situations are complex and many involve problems that are potentially hazardous. Problems presented in the exam simulate as closely as possible the types of situations that you may encounter in actual practice. Knowledge in domains is required for this exam: calibration, loop checking, troubleshooting, start-up, maintenance/repair, and project organization.
