Responsible for participating in projects to refine technical requirements; developing, enhancing and implementing automation control systems; and providing necessary maintenance and support for these systems. Position will be based in the Southern California area. Local qualified candidates will be given preference as no relocation funding is currently approved for this role. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following: Designing, installing and supporting Honeywell DCS (Distributed Control System) TDC, TPS and Experion platforms in a refining environment. Developing industrial automation systems hardware and software designs. Writing code for Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interfaces. Participating in regular project status meetings. Maintaining open communication with project team, clients, and when applicable, external vendors. Maintaining good working relationships with external vendors providing products or services utilized by the organization. Assisting in the development of test plans for systems integration and user acceptance testing. Testing and implementing systems that have been developed or modified, ensuring the solution meets the needs of the client and business. Providing assistance in the integration of 3rd party hardware and software solutions. Providing ongoing maintenance of systems previously involved with. Providing second-tier support within area of expertise. Creating system documentation for those systems developed or modified. Basic Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 5 years of process control experience Must be legally authorized to work in the US Good English Communication skills; verbal and written Additional Qualifications: Experience with Hart interface using Honeywell DCS controllers Process Control experience in the Oil and Gas Industry Will be able to program and use Hart interface compliant equipment to monitor and control equipment within the plant. Must be able to program, troubleshoot and operate the above systems. Design experience with these Honeywell DCS controllers. Engineering degree preferred; Chemical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, DCS Engineers, Control System Engineers Ability to work safely in an industrial environment Demonstrates high-level industry knowledge. Keeping up-to-date on industry trends and technology advances.
