ISA February Lunch Meeting Presentation
Hello from your local ISA section,
Our first ISA-LV section presentation of the year is a lunch-meeting. On Thursday, February 21, 2013, Ted P. Hinderman, from Emerson Process Management, will give a presentation on “Best practice Guide to Radar Level Direct Mount Installations”.
The meeting will be held at Grove Madsen Industries located at 4155 W. Russell Road, Las Vegas, NV 89118. Thanks to Troy and Rick for hosting our lunch meeting.
Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. and the presentation will be from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Please register here and indicate whether you would like to reserve a $10 box lunch or not.
One Professional Development Hour will be available for attending.
Synopsys:
A successful installation is key to reduce start-up costs and downtime. This presentation provides best practices for Radar Level direct mount Installations.
Presenter Bio:
Ted P. Hinderman – Executive Sales Engineer | Measurement and Flow Sales
Mr. Hinderman has been involved in Process Instrumentation for his entire 32 + year career. He received his BSEE from the University of Wisconsin. He has been an ISA member for most of his career and has been the Field Instrumentation Subcommittee Chair of the Process Controls group of TAPPI. He currently resides in Scottsdale, AZ. He is married and has two kids.

ISA March Lunch Meeting Presentation
On Thursday, March 28, 2013, Doran Carder from Gen-Tech will be presenting on “Generator Sizing”.
One Professional Development Hour will be available for attending. The meeting will be held at Grove Madsen Industries located at 4155 W. Russell Road, Las Vegas, NV 89118. Lunch is at 11:30a, Presentation will be from Noon to 1PM.
Generator Sizing:
Presents methods and calculation for proper sizing of engine-generators. Explores the alternator and engine responses to different types of loads. Presents different techniques to optimize engine-generator performance.
Presenter Background:
Doran Carder has been working for Arizona Generator Technology for nine years. The first four years were spent doing inside sales and Project Management. Five years ago the opportunity became available to become the presenter of a series of (10) seminars on power generation put together by the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Generac Power Systems called the Professional Development Seminars Series. Since he began, he has presented this information to over 70 electrical engineering firms in Phoenix, Las Vegas and Tucson.

The “2012 Fall Classic”

The 2012 “Fall Classis” started off with a golf tournament at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club. The weather was not cooperating at all that day and we had to cut the tournament short. The staff at Stallion Mountain did work to provide the best service possible under the poor weather conditions.
We completed the weather shortened round at about 10:45. At about noon we headed to the Boulder Station Hotel and Casino for a lunch buffet and awards presentations in the second floor....
